Giovanni Corino, Barbera d'Alba Vigna Pozzo Vintage:2001

Description
Giovanni Corino, Barbera d'Alba Vigna Pozzo Vintage:2001Intense, with loads of black fruit and oaky character. Full bodied, with fine, compact tannins and a long finish. Refined and delicious. I always love this Barbera. Best after 2005. 500 cases made. JS
But the aromas don't stop there
Supple and appealingly sweet
Aged four years on the lees
but its benchmark quality is already glaringly apparent
Bright and delicate
The mouthfeel is thickly woven and generous
Owners of vast vineyards (totaling some 500 acres) that supply the majority of their fruit
tobacco and cocoa notes
The citrus-colored sample of the 2020 Vouvray Le Haut-Lieu Moelleux Première Trie still shows a very fine CO2 perlage in the glass that opens with clear and concentrated but also lush fruit and floral and chalky aromas
They selected north- and west-facing vineyards to achieve more freshness in the wine
And that last trait is not one I usually associate with youthful Breuer crus
but with plenty of marrow packing its bones
