The instrument monitored the wing temperature to allow adjustment in flight as necessary. See photo of the location of this instrument on the right side of the co pilots panel (photo taken in C 119 cockpit at Palm Springs Air Museum). The case is clearly experienced but the face of the instrument is in very nice condition.
