Description
Colgin, Tychson Hill Cabernet Sauvignon Vintage:2014The 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Tychson Hill is beautifully layered throughout, with striking aromatics and tons of nuance. There is no shortage of intensity, but, somewhat uncharacteristically, the Tychson Hill is the least opulent of these four wines. The 2014 has closed down considerably after bottling. From barrel, it was nuanced, classy and super polished. I suspect it will be all of those things again in a number of years. Dollops of Cabernet Franc
sporting black pepper
a hint of licorice
indeed even opulent
the 1999 has moved on from its primary stage
which comes from vines from 5 to 40 years in age
The 2007 Chateau Nairac is a little pinched on the nose
serious and youthfully austere finale
I like this but be aware that there is rigor here so it will require some patience
The succulent and caressing medium-bodied flavors possess fine mid-palate concentration that buffers the moderately firm tannins shaping the balanced and delicious finale
but it also has some brioche aromas
imparting beautiful tones of black fruit
sweet tannins to round out the finish
